Sora uses Shun's proprietary Composite Blade technology to bring together a premium VG10 cutting edge with a Japanese 420J stainless steel blade upper. This technology puts high-performance material on the cutting edge. The two steels are permanently braze welded together with a line where the two steels meet similar to the “hamon” line of traditional Japanese knives. The handle is made of a textured PP/TPE polymer blend and gives a contemporary look to this traditional Japanese handle design.
