ROBERTSON, Donn J., Brig. Gen., USMC. NAVY CROSS RECIPIENT ON IWO JIMA AND COMMANDING GENERAL OF THE 1ST MARINE DIVISION DURING THE TET OFFENSIVE IN VIETNAM. A typed letter signed, dated 18 October 1965 and on his "flag" stationery. He earned the Navy Cross in combat on Iwo Jima, commanded the 1st Marine Division during the Tet Offensive and later commanded the III Marine Amphibious Force. Fine. A-6001
